Still more products I would like to share.

1.    Ceramic tile with the oxidized silver texture called Ibushi-kawara is common ceramic finish style for roof tile since ancient time in Japan.  The post card of Kyoto often include the image of the ancient temples with the bright silver roof for instance, the good example of the application of this type of roof tile.

Now, the modern products are not only limited to the roof tile usage, but also for the interior/exterior applications.

いぶし瓦のタイル。伝統的な寺社などの和風建築に使われているいぶし瓦の技法を内外装の壁面に使えるタイルとして製品化されてます。

2.    Another wall tiles.

Look these tiles, almost the opposite aesthetics, one is ostentatious hand painted gold tile and others were rustic unglazed terracotta tile. 　Despite the difference in style, both give strong impressions.  Interesting material for the wall in the public & private space.

その他の壁用装飾タイル

両極端な種類のタイル、方や豪華絢爛の鍍金で、もう一方は素朴な素焼きタイル。

スタイルは違っても印象的な存在感はさすが。公共空間や大き 　　　　　　　　　　　　　な住宅空間にはいいかも。

3.   Laser cut steel wall lighting ornament.

It’s such a simple product, cut the sheet of steel in some shape, paint and install LED lighting behind. 

What unique about is the graphical design. 

Aren’t all looking lovely?

The woven thin sliced Japanese cedar and bamboo.

Intended to use as the screen for the window or partition.

Notice the lighting effect, all custom made hand woven.

Also, found set wood product.  They are interconnected solid woods board, not for sliced veneer, ideal for the table/counter top. 

Get scratched?  No problemo, sand it down!　

まだまだ見てほしい木製品があります。

杉や竹の薄板を編み込んだ製品。窓のスクリーンや空間の仕切りに使えそう。スクリーン越しの光の効果はナカナカ良いですね。全て受注生産で手作りだそうデス。

また、無垢材の組木細工もありました。

ホゾを切って組み合わせてあって、突き板じゃありませんのでテーブルやカウンタートップに良さそう。

傷がついても削れるだけでOK！

Animation, puppet shows effect / 人形劇風アニメ

back ground is a diorama model

This is a bit surprising technology, a sheet of glass actually function as a monitor, see through liquid crystal monitor!

The boxed exhibit was a short interpretive animation.  The Sumi-e style, the Japanese traditional black ink drawing, animation graphic is appeared on the front glass.  And inside the box is a three-dimensional diorama model as a background landscape. 

With Sumi-e animation in front and diorama scenery in the back, this exhibit is like watching a puppet show.

Nice trick, fun exhibit! 

人形劇風アニメ

チョット驚く最新技術、透明ガラスの液晶モニター！

展墨絵風の短編展示解説アニメが手前のガラスに浮かび上がり、中に立体ジオラマが模型の背景となった箱形展示。

ジオラマ模型の背景の手前の墨絵アニメは、まるで人形劇を見てる見よう。

なかなかおもしろい展示ですネ！

Look at the cross section!

Colourful veneer.

The section of this veneer shows vivid coloured layers, red, green, bleu etc.  The colours are so rich, you know why?  Those coloured layers are not stained wood, but actually the thick paper, tha’s why. You could use same ordinally tool for processing.

Nice touch, don’t you think?

カラフルな合板

この合板の断面を見ると、赤、青、緑等奇麗な色が顔をのぞかせています。

ベニアの発色が良いのは、染色した厚紙を使っているから、板を染めたんじゃないんです。

もちろん加工する時は、普通の木工道具で出来ますよ。

結構、良いんじゃないですか？

Washi under layer

Notice the coloured graphic pattern under the wood sheet.

The graphic was printed on the thin washi, traditional Japanese paper, lay under the marquetry.

Also complicated marquetry graphic shapes were only made possible with the CAM laser cutter.

突き板の下に模様のある和紙を引いて、木目の下にグラフィックを浮かび上がらせる凝った仕事。

細かな形の切り抜きが出来るのも、CAMのレーザーカッターが有ればこそ。
