There are many sorting trashcan I sow in Abu Dhabi in different places, schools, hotels and public places like airport or park.

The types of waste are varying by places, cans, plastics, papers and general waste.

Looks like the City is trying hard to reduce the waste seriously.

アブダビでは、学校、ホテル、空港や公園など公共空間等、様々な所で分別式のゴミ箱を見ました。

缶、プラスチック、紙、一般ゴミなどの分別種類は場所によって異なっていました。市当局は、ゴミの削減に真剣に取り組んでいるようです。

This exhibit is a fist thing you see as soon as you came out of the airplane before clear the custom.

It is sponsored by the Environment Agency in Abu Dhabi and the airport.

The graphic panel beside the exhibit informs that if everyone passing through this airport turned off a light in their home for 1 hour a day for the entire year, it would stop 1,000 tones of Co2 emission…oh, I didn’t know that

これは、アブダビ空港で飛行機から降りたら入国検査を受けるより前に、すぐに目に入る展示です。

アブダビ環境庁と空港がスポンサーとなって設置されています。

展示の脇のグラフィックパネルには、この空港を利用する人が、自宅で1時間多く電気の利用を削減すると、1年間でCO2を1,000トン削減できるとの事です…知りませんでした….。

The Manga legend, Osamu Tezuka Mural: Takadano-Baba /手塚治虫の壁画：高田馬場

His self portrait

This colourful mural is painted under guard of the train track beside JR Takadano-Baba station.  The mural was homage for the legendary Manga Artist, Osamu Tezuka (1928-1989) author of the Science Fiction manga, Astro Boy.

The motives are all his manga characters, and the painted events are based on Takadano-Baba local history and people who related in this area.

The reason why they put the mural near the station was, his manga production company Tezuka, Tezuka Production, was established  near this station, thus the community, local shop and restaurant owners wanted to promote their town with his fame.  The train station even uses the theme song for the Astro Boy as their plat home bell.

このカラフルな壁画はJR高田馬場駅脇のガードの下に掲示されています。壁画は伝説のSF漫画家で鉄腕アトムの作者、手塚治虫(1928-1989)を記念して描かれました。

描かれているモチーフは手塚マンガのキャラクターで、内容は高田馬場の歴史やゆかりのある人物等です。

駅の近くにこのような壁画があるのは、高田馬場駅の近くには手塚プロダクションの事務所があり、周辺の商店街や地域が地元のプロモーションをめざしての事です。

JR高田馬場駅のホームでは、ホームベルの代わりに鉄腕アトムの主題歌も使われています。

An Exhibit in the public place: Shibuya ２: 公共空間での展示：渋谷 ２

This ceramic mural, titled as Bright Time, is created by Kei Amatsu and the colourful clock on the left seems a part of the art as well.

She is quite active on the public art.

このBright Timeと題された陶壁画は、天津 恵の作品で、右手のカラフルな時計も作品の一部のようです。

彼女は公共空間での作品を多く制作している作家です。

Back lit graphics. : Kawagoe Matsuri Kaikan / 内照式グラフィック: 川越まつり会館

The backlit graphics are popular for long time, especially the exhibit space where needed to be kept lights away, theatre, aquarium or some science centers.  In this case, the graphics are installed in the theatre hall where tall festival floats are displayed.  The space are needed to lower the light level while playing the introductory movie but needed to be raise the light level when the movie ends.Thus, the graphics in this space are all lit to stay visible all the time.

内照式のグラフィックパネルは長く親しまれてきた手法、特に劇場内や、水族館、科学館等、暗くしておきたい展示空間ではよく使われています。

これは、お祭りの山車が展示されている映像ホールで使われている例です。このホール空間は解説映像が流れている時は暗く、映像が終わると照明のレベルを上げて明るくする必要があります。

その為、どんな照明レベルでも良く読めるように内照式のパネルとなっています。
