Prayer wheel like exhibit: Ikari Dam Visitor Center/ マニ車風の展示：ワクワク・ダムダム資料館

This exhibit is like a Player Wheel used by Tibetan Buddhism that the player turn the cylinder, which contains the Holy Scripture inside.

The exhibit’s cylinder has the graphics and information text on the fishes and vegetation in this area and encourages the visitor to turn the cylinder to study them

この展示はチベット仏教で使われている教典を入れた回転する円柱、マニ車のような展示です。

展示で使われている円柱の表面には、この地域の魚類や植物の絵と解説文が描かれており、来館者は円柱を回しながら学ぶ事が出来ます。

Read 'Saneatsu'

 I couldn’t find any artists signature or recognition plaque near by. Only things I found were a couple of bronze plates with some poems were written and signature which read as ‘Saneatsu’ that possibly mean by a famous writer, Saneatsu Mushano-Koji (1885-1976).

There are no trace of the sculptor on site, as well as on the web.

この作品の署名や銘板をどこにも見つける事が出来ませんでした。見つかったのは、詩の書かれた２枚のブロンズ盤に、実篤という名前だけでした。小説家の武者小路実篤だと思いますが、彫刻の作家の情報は現場でもネットでも解りませんでした。

Long line up

The Spark, Science Centre in Calgary, is a popular place for families in Calgary for sure.

When I visited on a weekend in this summer, it was a long line up at the entrance counter. While we are standing on the line, a couple of volunteers approached us and performed plate spinning and invited the children on the line.  They taught the kids some tips for smooth spinning and all kids seemed enjoying it.

Nice treat for board kids, good job.

カルガリーにある科学館、スパークは家族連れに人気の施設です。

今夏の週末に訪問した時、受付前には長蛇の列でした。列に並んで待っている時、ボランティアの方が２名現れて、並んでいた子ども達を皿回しに誘い始めました。スムーズに回すコツ等を教えてくれるので、子ども達はみんな満足そうでした。

飽きやすい子どもには嬉しいサービスですね。

Look, how intensive their announcements are, posters at outside said it’s available, floor graphics says same and even the stair case is screaming too.
