Sign design: Ueno Park /サインのデザイン：上野恩賜公園

Ueno Park is known as the home for the Art, since several art related facilities, Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum, National Museum of Western Art, Tokyo National Museum and National Museum of nature and Science, are located in this popular park.

I don’t know if this ‘art’ influence had affected the design of this way finding sign or not.  But, this sign sure look likes a piece of sculpture to me.

上野公園は、園内に数々の文化施設、東京藝大、東京都立美術館、国立西洋美術館、東京国立博物館や国立科学博物館などが有り、芸術のメッカとして知られています。

そのためなのか知りませんが、この方向を示すサインもなんだか芸術彫刻に見えてしまいますね。

Sony Design MAKING MODERN 2: Sony Shinagawa showcase / Sony Design MAKING MODERN 2：ソニービル

I have been always considered Sony’s design as clean and smart and I was reconfirmed, as I wasn’t alone on this issue.

When I went to the exhibit for reviewing Sony’s product design, I saw number of people, young and elder, some looked like students, designer or foreign arty types.

Even the design of the exhibit space was clean and smart looking.

今までもソニーのデザインは清楚でスマートだと思っていましたが、そう感じていたのは私だけだはないようでした。

このソニーの製品デザインの回顧展を見に来ていた人たちは、老若男女、学生系、デザイナー系、また外国のアート系などさまざまな方が来館していました。

展示空間のデザインもやはり清楚でスマートでした。

Exhibit in the public space: Sogakudo /公共空間の展示：奏楽堂

A Former Music School building, Sogakudo, has been preserved on the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music campus that locates in the Ueno Park.

The building was build in 1890 as a National Music School for establishing to educate modern musicians and because of the need of preservation, the building was relocated and restored in 1987.  It is still used as a concert hall.

Several introductory panels are installed for informing the history of this old building.

この奏楽堂は、旧東京音楽学校（現東京藝術大学音楽学部）の校舎で、我が国最古の音楽ホールとして、上野公園内の東京藝大の構内に建っています。

建物は明治23（1890）年に建てられ、昭和62（1987）年に現在の場所に移築・修復されました。現在でも音楽ホールとして使われることがあります。

この古い建物の歴史を伝えるグラフィックパネルが設置されています。

Special exhibit, Masks : Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum / マスク展：東京都庭園美術館

An interesting exhibit,’ Masks : Beauty of the Spirits　Masterpieces from the musée du quai Branly‘ Has been held at Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum.  Dozens of Anthropological masks from around the world are selected from the collections of musée du quai Branly in Paris.

Unfortunately, I don’t have any pictures because taking pictures were prohibited.

The building of Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum’s building was build in 1933 as a main residence of Prince Asaka family and re-opened as the art museum in 2014 after tree years renovation.

The building is a perfect example of Art Deco architecture, one of the top well preserved and renovated architecture in the world.

面白い展覧会、マスク展は東京都庭園美術館で開催されていました。

パリにあるフランス国立ケ・ブランリ美術館の収蔵コレクションから選ばれた、世界中人類学的な仮面が何十点も展示されていました。

残念ながら館内は撮影禁止でしたので、写真はありません。

また、東京都庭園美術館の建物は、1933年に朝香宮邸として1933年に建てられ、また３年にわたる改修・復元工事を経て2014年からは、美術館として再オープンしました。

この建物は完璧なアールデコ様式の特徴を

有し、素晴らしく保存と修復が成されていた世界でも稀な建造物です。
