There are huge Sumo wrestler photo panels displayed on the Station’s entrance wall.

You can tell this station is something special, next to the Kokugi Kan, Sumo stusiam.

両国駅の改札ホールの壁面には、横綱の大きな額装写真が掲げられています。

さすが国技館に隣接する駅ですね。

There is a long pedestrian passage under Ryogoku station platform.  Because of this red carpet had been laid, I suspect this hall way is designated for the Imperial use, since Ryogoku station is stand beside Kokugi Kan, a dedicated stadium for Sumo traditional wrestling.

There is a photo panel exhibit which describe the history of this station from beginning.

場所は両国駅のプラットフォームの真下にある通路です。両国駅は国技館に隣接して建てられていますから、赤いカーペットが敷かれているこの通路は、多分皇室専用に設けられたのだと思います。

壁面には両国駅の歴史を紹介する写真パネルが展示されています。

Exhibit; David Bowie comes to Tokyo/企画展示；デヴィッド・ボウイ 東京展

This exhibition was organized by Victoria and Albert Museum in London last year, finally came to Tokyo.
Full of his original sketches and drawings, note of lyrics, costumes, photographs, videos and musics.

The exhibit space was full of stuff to see, enjoy and wanted to stay forever,  fascinating exhibition.

この巡回展はロンドンにあるビクトリア　＆　アルバート美術館が企画したもので、ようやく東京開催となりました。
彼の手描きのスケッチや絵画、歌詞のメモ、舞台コスチューム、写真、映像や音楽など、見どころたっぷりです。
展示空間は資料がいっぱいあり、いつまでも見あきず楽しめます。    

Art in the public space : Owl Tower / 公共空間のアート：アウルタワー

These owl sculptures are exhibited in the underground pass beside 52 stories residential tower in Ikebukuro, Owl Tower.  Because Japanese name of the ‘Owl’ pronounces as ‘Fukuro’ which similar to the town name ‘Ike-Bukuro’, Owl became the symbol of the Ike-Bukuro town.

このフクロウの彫刻は池袋にある５２階建てのタワーマンション、アウルタワーの地下通路に展示されています。「池袋」の名前に掛けて、「フクロウ」は街のシンボルになっているのです。

Exhibiting the history of the location: Nihonbashi /歴史の地の展示：日本橋

This exhibit, located in the　subway underpass wall, displays a replica of a hand scroll, Kidai Shoran, a picture of the old Nihonbashi area in around 1800 during Edo period.  The original scroll is a collection of Museum fur Asiatische Kunst, Staatliche Museen zu Berlin.

The painting reveals how busy the Nihonbashi street was, even 200 yeas back.  Both side of the Nihonbashi street were already filled with buildings of commercial retailers and street were packed with merchants, samurais, young and old.  Also, there were many boats unloading the shipments to the riverside warehouses in the Nihonbashi river, etc.

Above and below the scroll, there were short comments that describes the painted scenes  on the scroll.

The painting shows full of activities back then, fun to watch.

地下鉄の通路壁に、１７世紀の江戸時代の頃の日本橋の通りを描いた絵巻、「熙代勝覧」の複製が展示されています。原本はベルリン国立アジア美術館に収蔵されているものです。

絵巻では200年前の当時から、いかに日本橋が栄えていたかが良くわかります。

 日本橋通りには両側に商店の建物が並び、通りには商人、武士、老若男女等たくさんの通行人であふれています。また、日本橋川には多くの船が停まり、川岸の蔵に荷下ろしをしています。

絵巻の上下には、描かれているシーンを解説する文章が添えられています。

絵巻では、当時の喧騒が手に取るように描かれ、見ていて楽しいものです。
