Boxed exhibit: Ikari Dam Visitor Center/ マジックビジョン展示：ワクワク・ダムダム資料館

This exhibit is easy to change the contents and cost efficient type, boxed exhibit.

There are many museums and science centres around the world had been used same kinds of exhibit for a long time. 
They are not fancy and certainly not the most popular exhibit, still have many advantages as simple, strong, reliable and cost efficient.

If it fits in the context of the exhibit wisely, it could be quite effective.

この箱展示は中身を換えたりし易く、コストも安く上がる展示です。世界中の科学館や博物館で同じ展示技法は長く行われています。もちろんこの展示は一番人気之ある展示ではありませんが、単純で丈夫、壊れにくく製作費も安く済みます。

展示に内容に併せて賢く使うと、効果を発揮する展示手法です。

Pepper Ghost exhibit: Ikari Dam Visitor Center/ マジックビジョン展示：ワクワク・ダムダム資料館

Most of the exhibits in the Ikari Dam Visitor Center are simple and less expensive types except this Pepper Ghost dark box.

Looking in the dark box through the glass window, the moving image is projected on the half mirror glass, placed at an angle, over the scaled dam model then creates 3D movie like effect.

This is a classic technique that even Haunted Mansion at the Disney Land had been used in much larger scale.

わくわくダムダム資料館の展示のほとんどは簡素で廉価な物でしたが、このマジックビジョンだけは例外です。

暗くした箱を開口部の窓から覗くと、中のダム模型の上に斜めに設置されたマジックミラーに映像が映し出され、疑似3次元のような効果があります。

この技法は昔から行われていた物で、デズニーランドのホーンテッドマンションは、これの大掛かりな仕掛けです。

Like the dam card I wrote in previous report, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism is building the visitor centers for the dams across Japan.

This visitor center is one of them, Waku Waku Dam Dam Shiryou-kan (Ikari Dam Visitor Center) in Tochigi Prefecture along Ojika River.

The Center is located on the top of the Dam where the visitor could enjoy the nice view at outside.  The center has several displays.

前回紹介したダムカードと同じく、国土交通省は日本全国のダムに資料館を併設しています。この資料館もそのうちの一つで、栃木県の牡鹿川に作られた、五十里ダムのわくわくダムダム資料館です。

資料館は見晴らしのよいダムの上に建てられていて、内部にはいくつかの展示があります。

Dam card: The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism / ダムカード：国土交通省

　

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism is trying hard to promote the hydroelectric power dams and distribute ‘Dam card’ which able to obtain only when you visit the dam since 2009

Similar to the baseball card, dam card shows a picture of the dam in front and detailed specifications, location, name of river, type of dam and gates, size and　reservoir capacity and brief technical information etc.

Some friends of mine are started to collect them like nuts.

国土交通省は水力発電のダムを知ってもらう為に、2009年よりダムに訪れないと入手できない「ダムカード」を配布しています。ベースボールカードのように、表面にはダムの写真、裏面には細かな仕様、住所、河川名、ダムやゲートの種類、大きさや貯水量、技術的な概要等を記しています。

収集にハマってしまった友人も何人かいます。
