Manhole cover in Japan 3 / 日本のマンホールの蓋 3

These are another manhole covers I found in Nagoya.

The cover on above has a image of a bug, water strider. And also for the fire hydrant, the graphic is a symbol of Nagoya, a mysterious golden creature called Shachi and old castle, along with their city crest in upper center.

The last cover with an interesting abstract graphics is for the gas line, Toho Gas Company.

名古屋を歩いていて見つけたマンホールの蓋です。上記はアメンボの絵がついています。消火栓用の蓋には中央上部の名古屋の市章とともに、シンボルの金の鯱と名古屋城がついています。最後の面白い幾何学模様の写真は、東邦ガスのマンホールです。

Interpretive Centre: Minoyama Park / 案内センター：美の山公園案内センター

The Centre is Saitama's official mascot, Cobaton

The Minoyama park is located in the top of a small mountain, Miniyama peak (586.9 m), and known as one of the best flower park in Saitama all year around, Cherry and azalea for Spring, hydrangea and bellflower for Summer, cluster amaryllis and fleabane for Autumn and lots more.

And also, hiking, white water boating and the night view from the peak are Minano City’s another tourist attractions.

A small-unmanned Interpretive Centre build in the park welcomes visitors and guides sightseeing spots and other tourist attractions in this area.

Since this is self-guided center, simply photo and text panels provide all information.

美の山公園は標高586.9 mの小さな山、蓑山の頂上にあり、春は桜や山ツツジ、夏はアジサイや桔梗、秋は曼珠沙華やアマリリスなど、埼玉県内では一年中を通した花の名所として知られています。

さらに皆野市の観光資源として、ハイキング、筏下りや夜景等も楽しめます。

公園の中にある無人の案内センターでは、周辺地域の観光スポット等を紹介しています。

セルフで利用する施設なので、シンプルにパネルを使って写真とテキストで情報を提供しています。

Art in public space: Fushimi Station /公共空間の美術：伏見駅

This mosaic mural is located in the Fushimi station where the city’s Science Centre is near by. The Nagoya City Science Centre was opened in 1962 and the main attraction was a planetarium.

Therefore, the mosaic mural was created constellation as the theme.
Unfortunately, unable to find out who's work it was.

このモザイク壁画は、名古屋市科学館の近くの伏見駅内に有ります．名古屋市科学館は1962年に開館し、当時の目玉はプラネタリウムでした。そのため、壁画のテーマは星座となったのでしょう。
残念ながら、作者はわかりませんでした。

Art in public space: Nagoya Station /公共空間の美術：名古屋駅

This mosaic mural is created by a local oil painter, Rokuro Yabashi 1905 – 1988, who created number of mosaic works around Nagoya area.

This mosaic was produced in 1967 when the subway construction in Nagoya was still going on. He draw a image of subway construction site in this mural.

このモザイク壁画は、地元名古屋周辺でいくつものモザイク壁画を制作している油絵作家、矢橋六郎（1905-1988）の作品です。

この壁画はまだ地下鉄工事が行われていた1967年に制作されたので、地下鉄工事の様子も描かれています。

Building block type exhibits : /積み木型展示

Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Museum

The building block is one of the most common exhibit among science centres all over the world. Those exhibits below stimulate the child's interest, to encourage new discoveries by using their hands and brains.

積み木は世界中の科学館で一番良く使われている展示です。下記の展示では、子ども達が手と頭を使う事で、興味が喚起され、新しい発見に繋がる事を促しています。
