Inside of the displayed train car hangs city’s real promotional posters specially made to hang in the train that you see everyday when you catch a train.

Since this is a contextual exhibit, which make the scenery of the specific time or area, the posters hang inside the train are appropriate choice for the exhibit like this.

展示されている車両の中には普通電車に乗ると目にする広告として、瀬戸市の宣伝用の中刷り広告がぶら下がっていました。

この展示は情景再現をしていますので、本物の中刷り広告を使って瀬戸の紹介をするという手はアリですね。

Look, it’s a bird! An air plane…. No, it’s a transit map: CIAL Sakuragicho / あれは、鳥だ！飛行機だ….いや、路線図だ！：CIAL桜木町

This is a small rest space in the commercial building, which attached to the JR Sakuragicho station.  There are several deli shops surround this rest space and the customers could taste boxed lunch they just bought. 

The space is rather utility looking and quite boring only saved by the enlarged city transit map past on the ceiling.

It wouldn’t cost much but clever way to give a special touch to the space where build nest to the station.

これはJR桜木町駅に隣接する駅ビル内の小さな休憩スペースです。このスペースの周りにはいくつかの総菜/食材店があり、ここで買ったお弁当を広げる事も出来ます。もし天井に貼られた拡大路線図が無ければ、ただの機能重視の殺風景な空間です。

コストをかけず、駅ビルと言う性質を巧く活かした良い空間演出ですね。

Exhibits in public place: Sakuragi Cho Station /公共空間での展示：桜木町駅

The inside of the Sakuragi Cho station is exhibiting the history of the station where used to be one of the Japan’s first railroad station, the line between Tokyo and Yokohama that opened in 1872. Back then, the line’s one end is Tokyo station and only other station was in another end, Yokohama (currently Sakuragi Cho station).

Inside the station, the large printed interpretive graphics are used as the interior wallpaper and introduce the history to the commuters.

It is hard to miss noticing the station’s long history.

桜木町駅の中では、1872年に新橋横浜間に開業したときの横浜側に造られた日本で最初の駅としての歴史を展示しています。当時は、東京駅と横浜駅（現在の桜木町駅）だけの路線でした。

駅の中には、大型の出力グラフィックが壁紙として使われていて、駅の歴史を利用客に紹介しています。

これなら駅の歴史に気がつきますよね。

Using Manga for explanation in the museum: Seto Gura Museum / 博物館でのマンガを利用した解説：瀬戸蔵

In this museum, the story of the founder of Porcelain in Seto region named Tamikichi is told in the form of manga or cartoon. 

Tamikichi was sent to the south most island, Kyushu, for learning how to manufacture the porcelain and brought back the technology to Seto where already well established as the center for ceramics but lack the technologies for much sophisticated china ware, porcelain.

The manga tells the life of Tamikichi, the adventure of his trip to Kyushu, learning hard as a disciple in the ceramic factory and success of brought back the trade to Seto.

Using manga is an effective choice for making easy to understand a complicated story like this.

この施設では、瀬戸地域に磁器を広めた民吉の半生を漫画で解説しています。民吉は既に陶器の生産が盛んだった当時の瀬戸から、さらに洗練された技術が必要な磁器を学ぶため、九州に行きました。

漫画では、民基地の九州への旅路の冒険や、磁器の窯元での弟子としての努力、技術を持ち帰ってからの成功までの半生を解説しています。

漫画のかたちを使っての解説は、このような複雑な物語を伝えるには効果的ですね。
