Exhibiting the past : The National Art Center, Tokyo / 過去を展示：国立新美術館

A modern building is designed by a Japan’s leading architect, Kisho Kurokawa and opened in 2007.

In the entrance hall, there is a white building model of the old infantry third regiment barracks of the Imperial Army of Japan that occupied this property until end of the WW II is displayed in the acrylic case.

I didn’t know the history of this location until I saw this model.

Some time, it is a good idea to remind people about the location where they are standing.

この現代的な建物は日本の誇る建築家黒川紀章が設計し、2007年に開館しました。入口ホールのアクリルケースには、旧帝国陸軍の歩兵第三連隊の宿舎の白模型が展示されています。

この模型を見るまで、この場所が陸軍の宿舎跡とは知りませんでした。自分の立っている場所の歴史を教えてもらえるのは良い事ですね。

Peeping exhibit: Chika Haku / 覗き展示：地下鉄博物館

 This is another example of a old exhibit technique, peeping.

The exhibit counter has the build in binocular that shows picture of maintenance vehicles when visitor looked in.

There is a PC monitor installed in the middle of the ling coulter that shows the over all process of the maintenance work.

This corner is introducing the train track maintenance, particularly the different type of works and special vehicle for the task  I suppose, size of the actual vehicle, less popularity on the subject or limited space size etc, they decided to use this old technique to deal the matter.

It’s simple and trouble free, why not?

展示カウンターにはビュワーが組み込まれていて、来館者が覗くと保線車両の写真が見れます。

ここは保線についてのコーナーで、この展示は個別の保線作業とその用途に沿った車両の説明をしています。

長いカウンターの中央にはパソコンモニターが設置され、干す作業の全体像を紹介しています。

実物車両の大きさや、このテーマの人気度合い、あるいは展示空間の制限などを考慮してこの展示手法を採用したのだと思います。

シンプルで故障も少ない、安定した展示手法ですね。

地下鉄博物館

Way finding guide sign on the floor: Shibuya / 行き先案内床サイン：渋谷

This floor graphics are installed on the Shibuya under walkway, neither in the children’s museum nor in the zoo.  Only in Japan this kind of ‘Kawaii’ cat palm graphics for guiding the way for ordinary people in the public place.

Yellow palm with black letter indicates the exit number and green palm with white JR letter direct you to the JR (Japan Rail) station.

この床グラフィックは、子ども博物館でも動物園でもなく渋谷駅の地下道で使われています。こんな「かわいい」猫の足跡のグラフィックを、一般の人向けの行き先案内に使うのは日本ぐらいなものでしょう。

黄色の足跡に黒い数字は出口番号を、緑の足跡に白でJRと書いてあるのはJR改札の方向を示しています。

Monument in a public place: Al Wahda Mall / 公共の場の展示：アル ワハドモール

This is a monument installed in the main entrance of the large downtowm shopping mall in Abu Dhabi, Al Wahda Mall.

A giant football with a metal plaque which probably informing the meaning of this monument, however, because of my limited (none) ability in Arabic knowledge, I have no idea what is this monument for….

At least I understand this monument was installed by Al Wahda Sports Cultural Club.

このモニュメントはアブダビ市内の大きな商業モール、アル　ワハドモールの正面入り口に設置されています。

巨大なサッカーボールには銘板が取り付けられていて、多分、由来などが書かれているとは思うのですが、アラビア語の知識がないのでよくわかりませんでした。

唯一、アル　ワハド　スポーツ　カルチャークラブが設置した事だけは確かのようです。

Attraction in public place: Al Wahda Mall / 公共の場のアトラクション：アル ワハドモール

There is a fun train ride running around this urban shopping mall in Abu Dhabi down town.

The train runs on the rubber tire and stair around the mall’s corridor freely, no designated track or fence is installed. 

To avoid bumping into the wondering shoppers, the driver must busy steering around and use whistles frequently.

It is a great attraction for the small kids!

アブダビ市内の都市型商業モールには、楽しい鉄道乗り物があります。

列車はゴムタイヤを履いていて、線路や柵なども無く、自由にモールの通路を走り回る事ができます。

買い物客にぶつからないようにハンドルを切りながら警笛を鳴らして走っています。

小さな子どのたちには魅力的なアトラクションですね。
