Must be in Japan, Popular Manga Figure on the station walk way: Tokyo Station/こんなもんが駅構内にあるのは日本だけかも、、、、、：東京駅

This life size manga figure “Goku” from “Dragon Ball”, popular Manga and game character, was standing in the middle of the station’s walk way as promoting “Tokyo Character Street” in Tokyo station.

There are 14 or so shop complex on the underground street below Tokyo station that special shops on Japanese Animatiom, Manga and other cultural charactors.

東京駅の通路に設置された等身大のドラゴンボール、悟空のフィギュア。東京駅八重洲側の地下には、キャラクター専門ショップが14店舗ほど入っている「東京キャラクターストリート」があり、その宣伝の一環でした。

Historic Monument, Shinkan Sen’s starting point: Tokyo Station/歴史記念碑、新幹線の起点：東京駅

There is a sign inlayed on the platform floor at line 16/17 and 18/19 for the memory of Sinkan Sen (bullet train) that started operation since 1964.

The success of the Shinkan Sen was a big turning point for the train industry world wide since it had proved that there were still potential in the need of train as a transportation then declining against rapid growing automobile and airplane in that era.   

Sinkan Sen has since become the forerunner of the high-speed railway network which influence affected world wide to start developing high speed train in Europe and Asian countries.

東京駅の16/17 番線と18/19番線のプラットフォームの床面には、1964年に開業した新幹線を記念するサインが埋め込まれています。

新幹線の成功は、当時、世界中で自動車や航空機に押されていた鉄道輸送の可能性を証明し、ヨーロッパやアジアの国々でその後の高速鉄道開発が進められるきっかけとなったのです。

This is an one of the kind of art material shop, PIGMENT TOKYO.

They carry high end art related materials for professional artists, paper, canvas, ink, brush, colour sand and more.

Not only you can purchase these, but also can take several workshops they offer, painting, stamp making and lectures or just wondering around in the shop is satisfying experience, too.

The entire store was designed by the infamous architect, Kengo Kuma and he did a great job.
