Map is a good for informing number of different information associated the areas and locations. The only problem is, if there are too many things have to be informed,  it could congested and confused.

Here is the smart answer, make the layered map that separate each type of information.　

The layered maps on the clear glass were seen from the window like opening.  Each layer has a title tag and able to pull out the partacular map you wish to investigate.

This exhibit also provides extra information on the horizontal drawers.

地図は地域や場所についての、様々な情報を伝える事が出来ます。ただし問題は、伝える情報量が多すぎると雑多で混乱してしまいます。これは賢い解決方法ですね。窓のような開口部から、幾重にも重なった透明ガラスに描かれた地図が見えます。地図の各層には見出しが付けられていて、知りたい情報の地図を横に引き出す事が出来ます。

この展示では、水平の引き出しで追加情報を提供しています。

Kawasaki Eco Gurashi Miraikan is a museum for learning about the environment in Kawasaki and the world.

It is build in city’s Incineration Plant in Ukishima area and also city’s huge solar power plant is build next to it.

At the entrance hall, an enlarged Kawasaki aerial photo is pasted on the floor and monitor boxes which providing City’s environmental information are designed like white cloud shape.  The sky themed interior makes seeing the map is as if looking down from sky.

Cute little touch.

川崎市と世界の環境について学べるかわさきエコ暮らし未来館は、川崎市の浮島処理センターの中に建てられ、立地場所は浮島太陽光発電所が隣接しています。

エントランスホールには川崎市の拡大航空写真が床に貼られていて、市の環境についての情報を提供するモニターの箱は白い雲の形になっています。

空をイメージした内装は、航空地図がまるで空から下を覗いているような雰囲気にしています。

カワイイ演出です。

Map on the floor : Tokaido Kawasaki Shuku Koryukan/ 床マップ: 東海道川崎交流館

This building is a visitor and interpretive center for introducing an old ‘Kawasaki Shuku (Kawasaki Logging town)’ where established in Edo era along Tokaido (East Sea Road).  Tokaido was build between Edo (Tokyo) and Kyoto, thus most important of the five routes of Edo period.

Kawasaki Shuku was the second logging town counted from the start, Tokyo.  In old days, there were many Inns for ordinary people and an expensive hotel for the ruling class, Feudal Lord Samurai.

The one section of the floor in the exhibit room was an old map of the Kawasaki Shuku that indicate all inns, shops, post office, houses and temples.

The diagonal wood boxes with explanation graphics or monitor for particular site are installed on the floor along the map in appropriate location along the map. 

For visitors who wish to spend time with watching the map, few stools are provided.

この施設は江戸時代の東海道添いの川崎宿を紹介する、ビジターセンター兼展示館です。京都と江戸を繋ぐ東海道は、江戸時代の五街道の中で一番重要な街道でした。

川崎宿は江戸から数えて２番目の宿でした。当時は庶民向けの旅籠や、藩主が泊まる本宿等がありました。

展示室の床の一部は川崎宿の昔の地図となっていて、全ての旅籠、店舗、駅、民家や寺院が描かれています。

街道の建物等を説明するため、解説パネルやモニター付きの床置きの木箱が地図の適切な場所に設置されています。

また、地図をゆっくり見たい来館者のために腰掛けも用意されています。

Hands on Comparison: Mitsubishi Minatomirai Industrial Museum /ハンズオンで比較：三菱みなとみらい技術館

The problem of floating wind generator on the off shore is the stability against waves.

Mitsubishi Heavy Industry has an answer.  They invented V shape Buoy　that helps stabilize the tall standing wind generator.

These are the hands on models that visitor creates the wave, compare two different Buoy and see how stable the V shape Buoy would be.

Very convincing, aren’t they.

海上に浮かんでいる風力発電の問題は、波に対しての安定性です。三菱重工はそれを解決しました。

背の高い風力発電機を安定させるために、V字型のブイを発明したようです。

このハンズオン模型は、自分で波を起こし、形の異なるブイを比べ、V字型の方が安定している事が確認できます。

納得ですね。

This graphic art ‘Zoshigaya no Uta’ was created by a print artist Kosuke Kimura.

He was focusing on the history of this area, many memories of scieanary, nature, people and new life.
