An old military
rifle, Arisaka Type 38, which used
by the Imperial Japanese Army from 1908 to the end of WWII was on display at the modern
history zone at this museum. Since Japan has a very strict rule for owning
any kind of gun for civilians, practically no ordinary citizen has never had a
chance to touch an actual fire arms.
In this exhibition, genuine Arisaka Type 38 rifle was on display for
try to pick and feel the weight.
Carefully designed and build the steel
security flame that made possible to try a rare experience for visitors to pick up a rifle, since ordinary people are not permitted to own any kind of guns by low and bot much chance to even see guns around.

日露戦争後から第2次世界大戦終了までの間、旧日本帝国陸軍に正式採用されていた38式歩兵銃が本博物館の現代史の展示室に展示されています。我が国においては、一般市民が本物の銃器に触れる機会は皆無と言って良いのですが、本展示では触るだけでなく実際に持ちあげて重さを体感する事ができるような展示となっています。
防犯や安全に配慮した金属枠が造られ、来館者が自由に持ち上げられるよう工夫された展示です。
