Exhibit in Public Place: Lawson / 公共空間での展示：ローソン

A convenient store Lawson at Aoyama Sancho-me has a museum like display on the outside wall.

The franchisee had started serving good quality coffee on the counter. I think because of that, the theme of the display is exhibiting coffee makers and high quality pictures like displayed in the museum.  It is not common to see this kind of ‘non merchandising’ type displays at convenience stores that face high pressure of daily sales quota.

青山三丁目にあるローソンには、外面壁に展示がディスプレーされています。このチェーンでは最近、カウンターで質の高いコーヒーを提供し始めました。そのためでしょうか、展示されているのはコーヒーをいれる道具や、いい感じの写真などが博物館のように陳列されています。

日常の売り上げノルマが厳しいコンビニの世界では、このような商品を直接扱わないディスプレーは珍しいと思います。

This Natural History Museum Exhibits mostly on natural science side on Geology and biology.  Thus the part of Human History is not our social and cultural aspect, but more like the evolution side of our history.

Many exhibits are giving volume of specimen and artifact for comparison.

This Natural Science Museum has an interesting exhibit which displays the process of paleontologist tried to figure out what the dinosaur looked like, the skin (or might be feather?) texture and colors based on the scientific investigation.

Even though it takes scientific approach, still leave the room for the creative imagination, scientist or not.

この自然史博物館では、恐竜学者が恐竜がどんな姿だったのか？皮膚の起伏（ひょっとしたら羽に覆われていたのかも？）や色等を想像する過程を展示しています。

科学的な検証とは言っても、そこにはやはり人間の想像力が必要なのです。

Displaying invisible: Mitsubishi Minatomirai Industrial Museum / 見えないものを展示する：三菱みなとみらい技術館

This museum hosts dozens of scale model ships and this is one of the LNG carrier Mitsubishi Heavy Industry had build which has the characteristic bulges on the deck.  There are four tanks for holding LNG, that requites store in under -162 degree Celsius to keep it in liquid form. Therefore, the tank structure is like big thermos.

One of the tank on the model has a cut hole to show the inside thermos structure.

この博物館には何隻もの縮尺模型の船舶が展示されていて、これもその中にあった三菱重工が建造した、デッキの膨らみが特徴的な液化天然ガスの輸送船です。液化天然ガスを貯蔵する４つのタンクは、ガスを液化状態にしておくため、−162度以下に保つ必要があります。そのため、タンクは大きな魔法瓶のような構造になっています。

模型のタンクの一つは、魔法瓶構造を見せるべく穴が開けられています。
