City of Seto locates North East out side of Nagoya
that is regarded as a center for the ceramics since 10th century in
Japan. In fact, the Japanese word for ceramics is ‘Seto Mono’, means ‘Seto’s
Stuff’. In past century, their ceramic
exported all over the world. However, in
recent decays, the city economics had been on wire and trying to promote her
unique history and industry.
Seto Gura is such a facility, displaying
the long history of ceramic industry in the region and recreate the era of
their glorious era in ‘50, ‘60, and ‘70’s.
The scenery of that era was re-created n
the museum and the artifact display cases and interpretive text are blended in
the scenery.

瀬戸は名古屋の北東に位置し、我が国の焼き物生産の中心とされてきました。日本語で焼き物を「瀬戸物」と呼ぶのはその現れです。過去1世紀くらいでは、世界中に製品が輸出されるようになりました。しかしここ数十年の経済状況は思わしくなく、市の歴史と産業の振興活性化に努めています。瀬戸蔵は長い陶器/磁器の歴史と、繁栄していた50年代、60年代、70年代の様子を再現した施設です。
当時の情景が再現され、資料の展示ケースや解説文章は情景の中に溶け込まされています。
