'Lightings for Summer' 

Bamboo lighting

This exhibit room was filled with 500 pieces of the glass wind chimes welcoming the vosotors. 

The bamboo lighting art was installed along the wall.

この展示室はガラス風鈴が500個も吊り下げられています。部屋の壁面には竹筒アートのあかりが灯されています。

'Lightings for Festival' 

Room Interior

Aomori’s ‘Nebuta’ is famous festival on large lighten up floats are driving through Japan’s main island Honshu’s North most city, Aomori’s main street during nights in early August.

Thousands of citizens come out and dance around all night.

In this exhibit, a Nebuta, figured lantern, was set in the tatami floored room.  Considering the scaled down size in order to set in a room, visual impact of the Nebuta was still so strong that I lost my breath for a while.

祭りのあかり

Painting on the wall

青森のねぶた祭りは8月の初めの夜、市の中心地の大通りに電飾した大きなねぶたの山車を引きながら何千人が夜通し踊る大きなお祭りです。

この展示では、畳敷の部屋の中にねぶたが置かれており、小型のねぶたでも近くで見るとすごい迫力で息を呑みました。

'Lightings by Katsushika Hokusai & Edo Craft masters' 

The Japanese restaurant’s private rooms were

used as the exhibit space

There had been an impressive temporary exhibit held in this summer at the hotel/restaurant/wedding palace, Gajoen in Megro where best known as their decorative interior since build in 1928.

The number of Japan’s traditional lightings and modern artists lighting works were exhibited in the room along a long staircase corridor called ‘Hyakudan Kaidan (100 steps staircase)’.

葛飾北斎と江戸職人のあかり

Exhibit rooms were along right hand side

手の込んだ装飾で有名な、総合結婚式場、ホテル、レストランの目黒雅叙園で今年の夏素晴らしい展覧会が開催されていました。

100段もの長さで有名な「百段階段」添いの部屋に、日本の伝統のあかりや、若い現代の作家によるあかりの作品が展示されていました。
