Le Tour de France came to town : Saitama / ツールドフランスがやってきた

The official Tour du France event, Le Tour de France Saitama Criterium had held at my neighboring city, Saitama.  It had been third year Le Tour came to Saitama, Japan and the popularity glowed every year.

It takes about half an hour bike ride to the race location from where I live and I’ve never missed enjoy watching the top bike race in live.

The downtown streets are closed for the 3.1 km long cores for lap race.  There were 7 oversea teams and 7 domestic teams, 4 members each, a good chance to see top racers, Christopher FROOME, Joaquim RODRIQUEZ , John DEGENKOLB, Yukiya ARASHIRO and Fumiyuki BEPPU, etc.

If this where in France, you would wait for half day and watch riders passed in a blink of second. However good thing about criterium race, you could watch teams repeatedly come back.

ツールドフランスの公式レース、ツールドフランスさいたまクリテリウムが隣接するさいたま市で催されました。

今年で３年目となるこのイベントは、年を追うごとに人気となってきています。

自分の住んでいるところから自転車で30分くらいのところで開催されるので、毎年必ず生のレースを観に来ています。

市内の通りを閉鎖して、⒊.1　kmの周回コースが作られます。海外からは７チーム、国内７チームで各チーム４名。クリストファー・フルーム、ホアン・ロドリゲス、ジョン・デゲンコルプ、新城幸也、別府史之など有名な選手を見られる良いチャンスです。

フランスで観ているなら、半日待っていても選手が走り去るのは一瞬のことですが、クリテリウムでは何回も目の前を走ってくれるのがありがたいですね。
