Exhibit in a public place 2: Waseda University, Faculty of Science and Engineering / 公共の場の展示 2：早稲田大学 理工学術院

This prototype partition was designed by the students from Furuya Laboratory, Department of Architecture as a part of their ‘Nara Project’ that co-worked with Nara Prefectural government for exploring the innovative new usage of Nara’s local wood resource.

They displayed this prototype in the campus at Waseda University’s Faculty of Science and Engineering and informed the extra ordinary properties of Nara wood, beautiful strait grain, no gnarl, noble colour and wider width, etc.

The design is a multifunctional unit function as a partition, furniture and display base and able to fit into any office, or public space easily.

この試作品は早稲田大学古谷誠章研究室の学生などにより、奈良の地元の木材の新しい創造的な使い道を探るための奈良県との共同でプロジェクトの一環でデザインされました。

早稲田大学の理工学術院内のキャンパスに展示され、筋の通った柾目、無節、色艶、幅広材などの奈良材のすぐれた特徴を紹介しています。

オフィスや公共空間で使い勝手の良いパーテションやベンチ、ディスプレーベースなどの機能を持ったユニットデザインとなっています。
