People in the museum design field are trying to marge this relatively new technology to their exhibit when they plan/design their project.

This is one of the examples of how to use the IC card in the Exhibit.  And it proved to be difficult task to come up a perfect solution for the practical IC card usage on the floor.

The problem evidence in here is the security, how to prevent the vandalism/stealing when you put loose hands on tools like IC card in the exhibit floor. 

In this case, a thin steel wire was attached behind this handheld IC card.  The wire help prevent not only the loss of card, but also guide re-locating the card to the original position by self wire retracting mechanism which operated with a dead wait attached on the other end.

博物館デザイン業界の人が展示を考えるとき、比較的新しいICチップと言う技術をどのように組み込むか試行錯誤しています。

これはICチップを展示に使った事例の一つですが、やはりICチップを使いこなすのは難しい事が良くわかります。

ICカードのような自由に手に取る事が出来る物を展示空間に置く時には、いつも管理の問題が出てきます。

この事例では、細い金属ワイヤーをカードの後ろに取り付けています。ワイヤーは盗難予防になるだけでなく、ワイヤーの端に重りを付け自動的に巻き取る仕組みとしてあり、カードを元の場所に自然に戻る工夫がしてあります。

Four touch screen monitors for leaving the comments

Many museums provide a notebook for visitors who wish to leave their comments and/or messages at near exit.  Here is a Hi-tech version of such device.

The touch screen could bring up the ‘soft’ keyboard to type in the text the visitor wants to write.  When the visitor submitted their comments, the word started to flow in the large projected image on the wall.  The wall shows more comments from previous visitors too.

多くの博物館では、来館者がメッセージや感想を残せるように出口近くにノートを置いています。これはそのハイテクバージョンです。

来館者はタッチスクリーンでソフトキーボードを呼び出して、感想を書く事が出来ます。感想を書き終わると、文章は壁面に投影された画面の中に流れてきます。画面の中には以前に書かれた他の来館者のコメントも映し出されています。

A lots of touch screen monitors in this exhibit room which describes the past and future of their capitol city, Beijing.

One of the exhibit uses three monitors set vertically, touch screen monitor in the bottom, then map and text monitors installed above.　The entire exhibit room was packed with these kinds of monitor exhibits, too bad the visitors experience tended to becomes monotonous and one could get bored quickly.

この展示室には多くのタッチスクリーンが並んでいて、北京の過去と未来に付いて解説しています。

例えば、下から操作用、地図用、テキスト用と垂直にモニターを3台並べたりしています。

展示室全体がそんなモニター展示で埋め尽くされているのですが、残念な事に展示体験が単調となり、すぐ飽きそうでした。

Interpretive graphics on the monitor

One of the interpretive panels in this museum uses LCD monitor, which describe the operating principles differences among mechanical, analog quarts, and digital quarts watch.

The interesting point of this simple and strait forward graphic is some of the diagrams are actually the animations which show the movement of various mechanism and phenomenon, easy way to make complicated ides understandable.

この博物館の解説パネルのうちの一つは液晶パネルを使って機械式、アナログクォーツ式、デジタルクォーツ式の時計の違いを解説しています。

このシンプルで実直なグラフィックで興味を引く点は、仕組みや現象を解説している概念図をアニメーション化して動かし、わかり易く工夫している点です。
