Replica Kimono : Nagoya/Boston Museum of Fine Art / 着物の複製：名古屋ボストン美術館

A leady in the famous painting ‘La Japonaise’ by impressionist painter Claude Monet wore a beautiful Kimono, traditional Japanese dress.

At ‘Looking East: Western artists and the Allure of Japan’, an exhibit held in the Nagoya/Boston Museum of Fine Art showed a exact replica kimono on display.

The colour, texture, graphics and the craftsmanship were just speech less.

印象派の画家、クロードモネによって描かれた「ラ・ジャポネーズ」の女性は美しい着物をまとっています。

名古屋のボストン美術館で開催されている「華麗なるジャポニズム」の展示会場には、忠実に再現された複製の着物が展示されています。

色、テキスチャー、柄そして職人芸。素晴らしいの一言でした。

Exhibit in public place: Montreal Airport/ 公共空間での展示：モントリオール空港

This backlit graphic box is displaying the enlarged architectural detail inside the airport hallway.  The colourful and abstract photographs help punctuating this rather boring and dry space.

空港の内部の通路空間にあるこの内照式の行灯グラフィクボックスには、建築部分を拡大した写真が掲示されています。カラフルで抽象的な写真のおかげで、無味乾燥のこの空間が少し華やかになっています。

This National Museum in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia was designed by the Canadian architect, Raymond Moriyama for the building and Lord Cultural Resources for the exhibit.

When I visited, I didn’t see floor plan of the exhibit floor anywhere.  The coloured cubes installed in the entrance of each exhibit corner (they called as ‘hall’ and there were eight exhibit halls all together) and yellow dots with small arrow mark on the floor were only indications for where I should go next.

サウジアラビアのリアド市にある国立博物館は、建築はカナダ人のレイモンド・モリヤマ氏が設計し、展示はカナダのロード・カルチャル・リソース社によって計画されました。

訪問してみると展示室の案内図がどこにも見当たりませんでした。各展示ゾーン（この博物館では「ホール」と呼ばれており、展示は全部で８つのホールに分かれていました）の入り口に色分けされた立方体が置かれ、床に描かれた黄色い点線と矢印が行

き先を案内する仕組みとなっていました。

Exhibiting the process: Special Exhibition THE SEKAI-ICHI, Unique inspirations “Made in Japan”, National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Miraikan) / プロセスの展示： 特別展「世界一展」、日本科学未来館

This is a common exhibit technicue.which lined up the differ stage of same product  (kitchen knife) or locateon (ex. growth of a city over time).

This kitchen knife example displays 16 different steps of forging that rooted the traditional sward making processes.

博物館での展示においてはこのように、一つの製品の製造プロセス（包丁）や地域（都市の拡張）の変化の様を並べて比較して見せるのは、よく使われる手法です。

この包丁の例では、日本刀にルーツを遡る16段階に渡る鍛造技術が紹介されています。

Promotion : Gotanda Station /プロモーション：五反田駅

The Gotanda JR station has an unique brochure stand that looks like a face of electric train.  The stand is installed on the entrance of the station where always heavy traffic area.

The brochures are all events or interesting spots you could visit by using trains.

The stand has a couple of old pictures of the area, a simple chronological table and holder for the brochure, all well integrated in the train graphic. Especially, I love the name of the station ‘Gotanda’ is displayed on the train top as the destination sign.

JR五反田駅には、電車の顔をモチーフにしたカタログスタンドがあります。駅の入り口の人通りの多い場所にかれています。

パンフレットは電車を使って訪れることができるイベントや場所の紹介です。

このスタンドにはパンフレット以外にも、古い駅の写真２枚や簡単な年表などが電車のデザインの中に上手に組み込まれています。

特に運転席上部の行き先表示が、「五反田駅」になっているところがカワイイですね。
