Water Organ: Nagoya Sewerage Science Center/水オルガン：名古屋下水道科学館

There is a rare exhibit, water organ, installed in front of the Nagoya Sewerage Science Center.

The remarkable fact is, it is set up in an outdoor open street.

When you push the bottom (key), it makes Doe, Ray, Me… Scale as well as water jet spouting up inside the clear cylinder and push up the balls inside while plying the organ.

これは名古屋下水道科学館の入り口前に設置された、水オルガンです。驚くべき事に、この展示は屋外の通りに面した所に配置されています。

キーボードのボタンを押すと、ドレミの音階が奏でられ、音楽に合わせて透明パイプの中で水が吹き上がって、中のボールを上に持ち上げます。

Monitor in the factory

They re-created a cottage industry level ceramic factory inside the Museum. The CG interpretive movie that introduces function of the machinery and process of manufacturing the ceramics, showed exactly same factory layout as the re-created factory where the visitors are actuary inside and watching this movie.  When entire movie scene is re-created around you, it is much easier to understand the process and function of how to make ceramic and machine’s function on display.

ここでは博物館内に、家内制手工業の陶器工場が再現されています。CGで作られた解説映像で機械や陶器生産の手順が説明されていますが、映像の中の工場は、来館者がこの解説映像を見ている、展示室内に再現された工場そのままのレイアウトです。映像の中の景色がそのまま再現されているので、展示されている陶器の作り方や機械の機能がわかりやすく理解できます。

Display in public place: Meijyo Kohen / 公共空間での展示：名城公園

There is a construction site for the Shield tunneling at Meijyo Kohen area in Nagoya. The tunnel is for the 2 km long bypass line for the rainwater sewerage, coincidentally starts from where Sewerage Science Center.

A couple of interpretive panels are informing the outline of the project are displayed on the exterior wall of the construction structure.

名古屋の名城公園界隈にシールド工法の建設現場がありました。偶然、名古屋下水道科学館の目の前からスタートする、２キロ長の雨水をバイパスするトンネルです。

建築現場の外壁には、プロジェクトの概要を説明するグラフィックパネルが掲示されていました。

The entrance

The small corporate museum by PILOT corporation, a well established pen manufacture.  The first floor is their café and the museum is set in the second floor.  The photo is the stair case that lead you to the museum upstairs.  The vertical parts of the stair are used as the Chronological table of PILOT corporate history.

It made me excited to go upstairs!

万年筆で有名なパイロットの小さな博物館です。１階部分はカフェになっていて、博物館は2階に位置しています。これは2階の博物館に向かう階段ですが、パイロットの企業年表になっています。

2階に行くのもワクワクしますね。
