Hands on Exhibit: Nagoya Sewerage Science Center / ハンズオン展示：名古屋下水道科学館

This full scale house section model describes all of the sewage system around the house, kitchen sink and wash room.  The underground pipes are all transparent for visibility.  There are circular graphic panels on the wall informing small tips like what to avoid clogging the sewerage pipe or first aid for the trouble. 

The remarkable use of this exhibit is described on the hand made shabby poster.  It tells, the visitor could ask a block of sponge from the entrance counter, and then try to flash it  in the tile bowl and observe how the sponge goes down the pipe to the manhole.  When the sponge reached the manhole, open the lid and retrieve the sponge.

I don't know if anybody wants to see this in real life but as an exhibit, sounds fun!

この実物大の家の断面模型は、台所の流しやトイレ等家庭での下水の仕組みを説明する物です。地下の配管は見やすいように透明になっています。壁には下水管が詰まるのを防ぐコツや、トラブルが起きた時の対処などについての円形のグラフィックがあります。

素晴らしいのは、少し痛んだ手書きのポスターに書いてある、この展示の使い方に付いて説明です。

なんと、来館者は受付でスポンジを借りて、このトイレで流してスポンジが下水管を通ってマンホールマに流れるのを試せるのです。マンホールに到着したら、マンホールの蓋を開けスポンジを回収します。

実際の生活でこういうシーンを見たがる人はいないと思いますが、展示でしたら面白そうですね！
