Special Exhibit building for exhibiting the Royal family: The National Museum of Riyadh / 王家を紹介する特別展示室：リヤド国立博物館

Main Floor

The National Museum in Riyadh has a separate building that designated for exhibiting history of Kingdom’s Royal family.

The main exhibit on the first floor is arranged around a open ceiling hall, displaying the family’s memorabilias like books, documents, table ware, guns and cloths. 

The second floor is more like a gallery, displaying framed pictures of the king and his family members.

Half basement was my favorite, fancy cars!

2nd Floor

リヤド国立博物館には、国王一族の展示をする特別な建物が併設されています。

一階にあるメイン展示室は、吹き抜けホールの周辺には、書籍、書類、食器、銃器や衣装などの一族の記念の品々が展示されています。

２階には額装された国王や一族の写真が掛けられていて、ギャラリーのようになっています。

Half Basement

一番気に入ったのは半地下の展示室。高級な自動車が展示されていました。

Exhibit on the street : Megro station area / 路側の展示：目黒駅周辺

There is a high rise commercial/residential building construction under going and planning to be completed by next year.

The temporary enclose of the construction site displays a several graphics introducing the history of this particular area, otherwise a boring blank wall.

The graphic covers a brief history and culture of this neighborhood, telling how this redevelop plan they are building is adapting Megro’s history and culture.

現在目黒駅前では商業施設とマンションを合築した建物工事が進んでおり、来年竣工する予定です。

この建築現場は、通常なら殺風景な仮囲いの壁が、目黒地域の歴史などを紹介するグラフィックとなっています。

 

グラフィックでは目黒地域の歴史や文化の紹介にはじまり、現在進めている市街地開発計画が目黒の歴史や文化を反映している事を説明しています。

Art in public place : Kotsu Kaikan / 公共空間のアート：交通会館

This impressive mosaic mural is installed in the mezzanine space of the Kotsu Kaikan building.  The mosaic covers entire wall of the staircase open space from ground to third floor.

The mural, titled as ‘Midori no Sanpo-michi (Green Promenade)’, was a work of a modern painter Rokuro Yabashi which installed in 1964.

I really like this space very much; stairs are interconnected against colourful mosaic, beautifully designed architectural space.

この見応えのあるモザイク壁画は、交通会館の階段スペースにあります。モザイクは建物の１階から３階までの吹き抜け階段の壁一面に描かれています。

この題名「緑の散歩道」という壁画は、近代油絵の巨匠、矢橋六郎により1964年に製作されました。

ここは素晴らしい空間です。カラフルなモザイク壁面を背景に、階段が複雑に絡み合う、美しい建徳空間のデザインだと思います。

Sayoko Yamaguchi, The Weariest Clothed in the Future : Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo / 山口小夜子 未来を着る人：東京都現代美術館

This is a three month long special exhibit at Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo.

It is a retrospective exhibit introducing Sayoko Yamaguchi (1949-2007)

Her debut as a fashion model had a great impact on the fashion industry in London, Paris, NY and Tokyo in early ‘70^th and she became involving creative activities like designing and performing arts.

The exhibit covers most of her creative life as well as modeling activities.

この特別展は、３ヶ月間にわたって都立現代美術館で行われています。

この展覧会は世界的なファッションモデルでもあり、また、演劇コスチュームやポスターのデザイナー、舞踏や演劇の役者など様々な活動をしてきた山口小夜子(1949-2007)

1970年代、彼女のモデルとしてのデビューが、ロンドン、パリ、NYそして東京のファッション業界に与えた衝撃は大きなもので、その後活動の幅を広げ、デザインやパフォーミング・アートなどの表現に向かって行きました。

この展覧会ではモデルとしての面だけではなく、クリエーターとしての彼女の活動も紹介しています。
