Museum fatigue: Science Museum / 博物館でグッタリ：ロンドン科学博物館

It was common phenomenon that over exhausted in the museum, too large floor to walk around, too many boring specimens, too many people going by and worst of all, too hard to find the place to rest.

To cope this problem, many museums these days started to install benches and stools in their exhibit floors.  At the Science Museum in London went beyond the simple functional approach.  They invented the display cases integrated with wood bench and installed on the centre of the exhibit floor.

Good and practical idea!

博物館に行くと、会場が広くて歩き疲れたり、つまらない展示資料を見飽きたり、人が多すぎてグッタリしてしまったり、さらに悪い事には休む所が見つからない事が良くあります。そこで、最近の博物館ではベンチや椅子を並べたりして、少しでも楽に見てもらえるように工夫しています。

ロンドンの科学博物館では、もう一歩進んだ事をやっていました。展示ケースとベンチを組み合わせて展示室の中央に設置していたのです。

実用を兼ねた素晴らしいアイデアですね。
