The City of Oume, which located West of
Tokyo, used to enjoy the wealth from forestry and cotton industry, however it
was long gone. The city started to Re—vitalizing the street scene based on the image of 60’s, painted old
hand painted movie advertisement signs all over the street. And now succeeded
to attract enough tourists all year around.
Also opened Oume Akatsuka Fujio Kaikan, the
museum for a legendary gag manga artist, Fujio Akatsuka, my favorite mind you…

青梅市は東京の西に位置し、かつては林業と綿産業で栄えていましたが、その後寂れてしまいました。市では町おこしとして、昭和の時代をイメージして映画の手書き看板を通りの至る所に掲げました。いまでは四季を通じて多くの観光客が集まってきます。
また、伝説のギャグマンガか赤塚不二夫の施設、青梅赤塚不二夫会館を開設しました。ちなみに大好きな漫画家です。
