Long established sweets shop: Hanazono Manjyu : 老舗お菓子屋：花園万頭

There is a sweets shop road across Hanazono shrine in Shnijyuku, Tokyo, called ‘Hanazono Manjyu’ that established in 1835 at Kanazawa, Ishikawa and moved to Tokyo in 1906.  The shop has been family owned and a current shop master is the fifth generations.

At the store, they display a gorgeous ‘Kumade’, good luck rake from hanazono Shrine, in their shop window along the brief history description panel. Next to the display window, another window for showing their sweet making work table.

 It could be a pleasant to see their traditional style sweets making performance next time you visit Hanazono Shrine.

花園神社の路を挟んだ所にある和菓子屋さん、花園万頭は天保５年に加賀藩金沢で開業し,東京に明治39年に移ってきました。お店は先祖代々受け継がれ、現在の当主は五代目だそうです。

お店のショーウィンドゥには、花園神社の豪華な熊手がお店の歴史を解説するパネルとともに飾られています。

ショーウィンドゥの横には、伝統的な御菓子を作る作業手順が見学できる窓があります。

次に花園神社近くに来る機会がありましたら、覗いてみると楽しいかも知れません。
