Exhibit in public place :Kanazawa Castle Park / 公共の場の展示：金沢城公園

In this park, there are number of graphic panels interpreting the different types of the stonework that used in the base of the Kanazawa castle.

Because wide range of the stone construction technique were preserved on the stone base of Kanazawa castle, they call as ‘museum of the stone works’.  Since when a load Toshiie Maeda resided in Kanazawa in 1583, first thing he started was constructing a full fledged stone castle base.  The several designs and construction techniques were selected according to the purpose and surrounding sceneries,

entrance or gardens for instance.  Also, the repair works over the decades added another look and characters on the stone construction.

この公園には、金沢城の石垣に見られる石組みを解説するパネルが何枚か設置されています。

この金沢城の石垣にはいく通りもの石組み技術が残っているので、「石組みの博物館」とも呼ばれているそうです。1583年に前田利家が入城して始めたのが、本格的な石垣造りでした。　入り口の機能や庭の景色に合わせ、異なる石組みが使われ、またその後の改修工事などでさらに石組みの種類が豊かになりました。
