The material for this special exhibit was
unfinished lumber, translucent PVC sheet and foam core, and all inexpensive
material.
However, I felt the choice of material synchronized
Tadao Umesao’s research attitude as an anthropologist who was dedicated heavily
on field work and simple life style he kept all his life.
The minimum looking exhibit environment
created No Nonsense and help focusing on the contents.

この特別展に使われている資材は、白木の材木、半透明のビニールシートやスチレンボードなど低コストの材料です。
しかし、文化人類学者としてフィールドワークを重視した梅棹氏の研究者としての姿勢や、生涯にわたる素朴な生活姿勢などを展示するには、かえって適切な材料のような気がしました。
質素な資材のおかげで実質重視の展示環境が創られ、展示コンテンツに集中できる効果があると思います。
