How the plant researcher makes Herbarium: Darwin Center, Natural History Museum / 植物研究者はどのように植物標本を創っているのか：ダーウィンセンター、ロンドン自然史博物館

The best part of the Darwin Center, new addition of the Natural History Museum in London is the visitor could see the scientists working on their research, naming, analyzing and preserving specimens as well as the exhibit.

This is a workshop where a senior specialist preparing the herbarium, place the plants on the paper then put under the paper press.  The visitor could observe his working process from exhibit space that divided by a big glass opening.

Also, there is an intercom is installed in front of the glass for visitors if they have anything to communicate with the specialist. 

Always fun to watch professional’s work place.

ロンドン自然史博物館の新館ダーヴィンセンターの良い所は、来館者が展示だけでなく研究者の研究活動（名前を調べたり、分析、標本の保存等）も垣間見れる事です。

これは、年配の専門家が植物を紙の上に並べたり、圧縮機で標本をプレスしたりして植物標本を作っている作業室です。来館者は展示室川からこの作業をガラス越しに観察できます。また、ガラスの前にはインターホンが有るので、作業をしている人に質問したりする事も可能です。

プロの仕事を見るのは楽しいものですね。
