Art in the Public Place : Tameike Sanno Station / 公共の場のアート：溜池山王駅

This ceramic tile mural is a joint work between Gretchen Bender, USA and Miran Fukuda, Japan which title is ‘Amida-kuji’, traditional drawing.

The left side of the pictures indicate image of daily life and culture in US and left side is Japanese.

When you start from either side of lines to follow, go passed the heart symbol and reached to the new friend over sea.

The mural represents the friendship between two countries.

この陶壁画は米国の作家グレッチェン・ベンダーさんと日本の福田美蘭さんの「あみだくじ」という作品です。

左側には米国の生活や文化のイメージで、右側は日本のそれです。どちらかの端から辿って行くと中央でハートの周りを通り、海を越えた友人に出会うというものです。

この壁画は両国の友好を象徴するものです。
