The history of Kamakura-Kaido (Kamakura street) is going back to more than 800 years that said to be developed during Kamakura shogunate era. The interpretive panel is installed in this spot, Shinano-Zaka (Shinano Slope).

In edition, the Shinano-Zaka is also has a sad history.  In Kamakura era, local clans had to send their siblings to the capital of the governing shogun as the hostage.  One of the clan leader decided to rebel against the shogun but lost the battle.  Thus his young son was run from the capital but unfortunately captured at this location and later executed.

鎌倉街道は今から800年以上前の鎌倉時代に造られたと考えられています。信濃坂には説明パネルが設置されています。

この信濃坂では悲しい出来事が有りました。鎌倉時代では、地方の豪族は人質として自分の子どもを差枕に送らなくてはなりませんでした。幕府に兵を挙げて対抗して破れ武士の幼い子どもが鎌倉から脱出するも、この場所で捉えられて後に処刑されたと伝えられています。
