Memorial Monument: Yokohama Shipyard / 記念モニュメント：横浜造船所跡

The redeveloped waterfront in Yoyokohama, Minato Mirai (Future Port) 21 area was used to be a Yokohama Ship Yard since 1891 until the city had started area’s development in 1983.  The Shipyard was moved to other locations and Minato Mirai 21 area became a successful commercial district and great tourists destination.  This memorial plaque was installed in a small corner of the Mitsubishi Corporation building, the former owner of the Yokohama Shipyard.

The base stone of this monument place was actual foundation of the shipyard.

横浜みなとみらい21の場所は開発が始まった1983年までは、1891年から続く横浜造船所の跡でした。造船所は移転し、みなとみらい21は商業施設として成功を納め、観光客が押し寄せて来るようになりました。

この記念パネルは、横浜造船所を持っていた三菱のビルの敷地の片隅に設置されていました。
