Chikatetsudo no Zu

This stained glass art was done by a modern style Japanese painter Akira Yamaguti, his signature motif, mixing old and new images is drawn in this piece too.  His typical motif is like ancient Samurai warriors rush to the battlefield on the motorcycles, castle tower on top of the skyscrapers and uses old text character for writings.

 His work always gives strange déjà vu feeling to the viewers.

地下鐵道乃圖

新旧のモチーフを組み合わせた作風で知られる日本画家山口晃さんのステンドグラス作品。良く知られているのは戦場に向かう侍がオートバイに乗っていたり、超高層ビルの屋上が天守閣だったり、旧漢字を使ったりする作風です。

この作家の絵は、なんか不思議な既視感を覚えます。
