There are three ceramic mural installed in exterior
display cases on the building of Seto Gura.
The artist was Tamiji Kitagawa (1894-1989),
well known proletariat mural painter who studied oil painting in Mexico and
started to create number of murals on the buildings.
These murals were created for the Seto’s
Civic Centre in 1959 and theme was coming from its ceramic history, ‘Mountain
of the pottery clay and Digger’, ‘Potter’s wheel Setting’ and ‘Climbing Kiln’.
When city rebuild their Civic Centre to new Seto Gura, these murals are
reinstalled.

瀬戸蔵の外部壁面のディスプレーケースには、陶壁画が3点展示されています。これらは油絵をメキシコで学び、建築壁画等の作品で有名な作家、北川民次(1894-1989)の作品です。
この陶壁画は、瀬戸の歴史をテーマに「陶土の山と採掘夫」「ロクロ場風景」「登り窯」の３点で、1959年に竣工した瀬戸の市民会館のために創られました。市民会館が瀬戸蔵として立て直され、この陶壁画も移築されました。
