Another old buildings going to disappear 1: Japan Building / 消えゆく古い建物 1：日本ビルヂング

This stylish modern building was built in 1962.  The exterior was impressive wrapped around long linear white wall and glass line.  In contrast, the interior of the lobby space was created with thin sliced marble with vertical white and gray lines.  Most remarkably, the sliced marble was cut from a big chunk of block, thus all marble patterns are lined up.

The interior handrail fence was originally designed and houses as many as 22 elevators in 14 stories building. 

The building is going to be closed by the end of March 2016.

この近代的でスタイリッシュな建物は、1962年に建設されました。外装は白とガラスの細いラインが建物を水平に包む、印象的な建物です。ロビー空間は、白と灰色の縦線で構成された大理石板の内装となっています。
驚くのは、この大理石板は大理石の縦線の模様が全て繋がるよう、大きな同じ石の塊から切り出されていることです。

また、階段の手すりの腰部分もオリジナルの細工がされており、１４階建ての建物なのに22台もエレベーターが設置されています。

日本ビルヂングは2016年の3月末で閉館される予定です。
