Most impressive display in the department store I’ve ever seen: Mitsukoshi Nihonbashi / 今まで見たデパートで一番印象に残った展示：日本橋三越

A wood-curving sculptor, Gengen Sato in 1960, created this traditional angel figure.  Similar to Toshogu Temple in Nikko, Tochigi, his fine detailed form with colourfully decorated style gives unforgettable impacts to the shoppers who usually never expect such a large-scale art work in the department floor.

Because of this sculpture, this is one of my favorite department store.

この作品は木彫家、佐藤玄々によって1960年に創られた天女像です。日光東照宮のような細かな造形に極彩色を施した手法は、何も知らずにデパートを訪れる利用客が驚くほどの強烈な印象を残します。

この作品があるので、一番好きなデパートです。
