They have full functional train vehicle workshop connected to the museum exhibit building, with huge running ceiling hoist installed.

When I was there, the infamous steam locomotive, Flying Scotsman and diesel engine was under restoration.  As you can see on the pictures, their shop is a real factory that capable to restore their train vehicle in-house.

The restoration work was carried by mainly by volunteers with some exception like Flying Scotsman which contracted out for the specialty company.  I don’t mind handling the train parts as a volunteer in this workshop

この施設には車両をレストア出来る、走行式クレーンを完備した工場が展示棟に併設されています。訪問した時には、有名な蒸気機関車フライング・スコッツマン号と、ディーゼル機関車が修復中でした。

修復作業は,主にボランティアが行っています。（フライング・スコッツマン号のように専門会社に依頼するような例外も有りますが…。）

引退したらボランティアとして、ここで列車の部品をいじるのも悪くないでしょうね。
