Art in public space: Kaga Yuzen / 公共に場のアート：加賀友禅

Kaho Hyakkan

This beautiful mural is actually an entrance for the washroom in Kanazawa Station.

The graphics are the Kanazawa’s traditional textile style called ‘Kaga Yuzen’, hand painted dyed silk.  The left work is the work of Kaho Hyakkan and right side is by Kenji Maeda. Both are nationally well respected masters. 

This is the most beautiful washroom entrance I’ve ever seen.

この美しい壁画は金沢駅構内のトイレの入り口です。

入り口のグラフィックは金沢の伝統工芸の加賀友禅の織物。左が百貫華峰、右が毎田健治の作品となっています。
