Exhibiting the renovation plan on the old building 2: International Library of Children’s Literature / 建築改修計画の展示2：国際子ども図書館

The Original Library was build in 1897 and converted as the International Library of Children’s Literature in 2002 by the one of the best architect Tadao Ando.

May be because of the high profile project by the history and the architect involved, there are several exhibit installed in this library introducing the plan of the renovation.

There is a building model displayed in the second floor hallway, showing the completion of the glass box addition.  This model was probably made for the presentation during the building renovation design.

I am glad they saved the model and displayed to public.

もともとこの図書館は1897年に造られ、2002年に当世一の建築家、安藤忠雄の設計で国際子ども図書館として改修されたものです。

歴史的な建物で有名な建築家が関わった事業のためなのか、図書館の中には数カ所でこの改修についての展示が置かれています。

２階の廊下には、ガラスボックスが増築された改修後の姿を見せる建築模型が展示されています。ひょっとするとこの建築模型は、改修工事の設計時のプレゼンテーション用に造られたものかもしれません。

建築模型を大切に保管し展示してくれるのは、ありがたいことです。
