Art in the public space: Janne Kristian Virkkunen / 公共の場のアート：Janne Kristian Virkkunen

City of Kanazawa is taking seriously on installing sculptures in the public space.  They had held the international sculpture competition for the public space in past and promoting ‘Machinaka Chokoku (Sculptures in the community)’ movement.

This sculpture won the first place in the year 2004 competition, ‘Corpus Minor #1’ by the sculptor Janne Kristian Virkkunen.

金沢市では公共の場所に彫刻を設置することについて、精力的に取り組んでいます。過去には国際的な彫刻コンペも実施しており、いまでも「まちなか彫刻」として設置を推進しています。

この作品「Corpus Minor #1」は、2004年の国際彫刻コンペで最優秀賞に選ばれたJanne Kristian Virkkunenという彫刻家の作品です。
