A large driving wheel for steam locomotive
is exhibited inside a station building that commemorates the opening of the Kanazawa
station’s one hundred ten anniversaries in 2008.
This wheel belonged to the C58 140 (serial
number) steam locomotive, which used as the express train. May be some of railway enthusiasts could
tell, the large diameter of the driving wheel means fast moving train.
This exhibit symbolizes the appreciation on
the railway history and promise of the safety and trust towards future.

この大きな動輪展示は平成20年に、金沢駅開業110周年を記念して建立されました。
展示されている動輪は、特急として使われていたC58 140に取り付けられていました。熱心な鉄道ファンなら大きな動輪を見ただけで、高速走行用の機関車の動輪と気がつくでしょう。
この動輪は鉄道の歴史への感謝と、未来への安心と信頼への誓いが込められています。
