Exhibiting books in the Library : Toyo Bunko Museum/ 図書館の中の本の展示：東洋文庫博物館

As the name suggested, Toyo Bunko Museum (meaning Oriental library Museum in English), the museum was established around the book collection, which based on the books founder of the library Hisaya Iwasaki purchased from George Ernest Morison in 1917.

The library is known as having the world largest collection of the ‘La Description du Monde’ or ‘Il Milione’, by 13 century Italian merchant/explore, Marco Polo.

In their impressive library, several books are displayed in the glass case that imbedded in the bookshelf.

It is a nice way to integrate display case and shelf.

東洋文庫博物館はその名が示すように、創設者である岩崎久弥が1917年にジョージ　アーネスト　モリソンから購入した東洋に関する書籍コレクションを基に始まりました。

マルコポーロの東方見聞録の世界一のコレクションを収集している事で知られています。この迫力のある図書室には、ガラスの展示ケースが書架に組み込まれています。

展示ケースと本棚を上手に融合させた例ですね。
