Basement Floor, His Commercial and Editorial work

This one-man exhibition was held at the Ginza Graphic Gallery.  Nagai is an Art Director for the Commercial and Editorial Graphics who has received several awards and has a solid reputation internationally. 

The title of this exhibit, ‘Zuko’ means art and craft class in the elementary school that Nagai considers his original point for his creativities and he thinks his mind hasn’t been changed since.

 By seeing his design works, you will find his challenge on the creativities and also his pure enjoyment of doing so.  

Scrapbook type

As of any graphic designers, he pays much attention on the small details and you can see how he managed all puzzle pieces,  design constraints and criteria, fit nicely

Things I like most was his playful challenge on the Editorial Design, clear acrylic bookcase, shaped hale on the book cover, scrapbook like approach, for instance.

Fun exhibit, I enjoyed!

ギンザ・グラフィック・ギャラリーでの個展です。永井裕明数々の賞を受賞した国際的にも評価されているコマーシャルや編集デザインのアートディレクターです。この個展のタイトル「図工」は、永井が今だに続けている自分の創作の原点と考えているものです。

作品からは彼の創造へのチャレンジと、あわせて如何にその創作活動を楽しんで行っているのかが見て取れます。グラフィックデザイナーらしく、細部にまで気を配られた作品は、全ての要素がしっくりかみ合わさって気持ちよく仕上がっています。

特に編集デザインの作品は、透明アクリルのブックケース、型枠で穴の空いたページ、スクラップブック見たいな書籍など、楽しいチャレンジが満載でした。
