Process of sewage treatment 1：Nagoya Sewerage Science Center / 下水処理のプロセス１：名古屋下水道科学館

This exhibit is showing the process of the wastewater treatment at the city plant in Nagoya.

The dirty water such as, household sewerage, treated waist water from factories, and rainwater etc., comes to the treatment plant, removed dirt, microorganism, garbage and added chemicals for purifying.

These different process steps are lined up graphically on the wall with several experimental instruments between for visitors to try.

This particular instrument tells the importance of bacteria for reducing organic matter during the water treatment and let visitor try to mix the oxygen in the water that helps activate the bacteria.

When push the pump handle in front, starts the water bubble coming up and circulate the coloured ball that represent bacteria.

この展示は、名古屋市の下水処理場で行われている処理手順を説明する展示です。家庭からの下水、工場で処理された排水や雨水等が下水処理場に集められ、泥や微生物、ゴミ等が取り除かれ、薬品処理を経て浄化されて行きます。

これらの一連の手順が、この壁面にグラフィックと来館者が操作できる体験展示装置で紹介されています。

この展示は有機物を取り除くためにはバクテリアが重要な役割をしている事を伝え、バクテリアを活性化させるために水の中に酸素を混ぜる体験をする装置です。

手前のポンプのハンドルを押すと泡が立ち、バクテリアに見立てた色のボールが周り始めます。
